“Common Senses,” or “Common Feelings,” is a series of artworks exploring various inexpressible emotions. These feelings and ideas are deeply intertwined with the psychological states we have experienced, stored away in the multiple files of our memory.
The bed is one of the everyday tools we rely on. We spend a significant portion of our lives in bed; it becomes familiar with our presence and evokes emotions that reconnect us to a wide spectrum of both painful and joyful memories. In some instances, it transforms into a living entity, awakening shared feelings within us without our conscious awareness.

SOLITUDE

We are all captivated by loneliness, often succumbing to its unsettling influence. At times, when we find ourselves alone, nothing can contain or embrace us except our bed—the sanctuary that holds our feelings and emotions in those moments.
In the painting “Unity,” a bed is depicted against a gray backdrop that intensifies the viewer’s sense of loneliness, evoking memories of recurring solitude that they may have experienced. For a brief moment, the viewer may feel as if the bed embodies their being, awakening an unintended perception of it as a living entity rather than just an inanimate object or a tool for daily use.

Love in the Time of COVID

Love is what sets us apart from other living beings; it is the essence of our emotions that adds a human touch and elevates our existence. Love serves as a shield, protecting us from the hurt and offense that can arise from our external environment. It acts as a guardian for each of us.
Amid the relentless challenges we face, love may be our only refuge. Being with those we cherish is what empowers us to endure and thrive.

COMMON SENSES

To exist within a specific space, confined by four walls, is to gather all your thoughts, desires, ambitions, and memories—both the joyful and the sorrowful. This space holds everything you love and yearn for, as well as the friends you’ve known and those you haven’t.
At certain moments, this world can reveal itself to you as if viewed from above, allowing you to realize that you are not alone. Everyone has their own version of this space, which shapes their personality and influences their interactions with others. It is a shared realm, connecting us through similar feelings and sensations—an experience of commonality in our emotions.

DIFFERENT ANGLES

The stereotype of constantly seeking stability often leads us to view the bed as our only refuge—the place we return to at the end of the day that offers a sense of security. A person may feel incomplete and unfulfilled simply because they lack stability, prompting a long search for a place to finally settle. Paradoxically, what we seek is also in a state of waiting or nothingness, longing for a role or purpose that allows it to be impactful and significant alongside our presence.

UNTITLED

It is a never-ending struggle. We constantly yearn for everything—longer lives and rich experiences—as if we are trying to affirm our existence. Life embodies love, and at times, it manifests itself as the desire to possess everything, including the one we cherish. We become so attached that they become our sole desire in this world. We cling to them and fight for their presence, often feeling the need to snatch them away from others. The other person reflects us; they share our desires, tendencies, and emotions. Like us, they seek to claim everything, striving to take what we hold dear.
