“Beyond Memory” is a collection of 22 abstract artworks showcased in Baghdad in 2013. It aims to remove any recognizable forms. Through this collection, the artist intended to foster a visual dialogue with the viewer, expressing a world that exists solely in the memories of both the artist and the audience rather than in reality.

About the Show
We often attempt to convey the images and color compositions swirling in our minds, yet we fall short Artistic methods and techniques can feel inadequate. Engaging in dialogue with others is a delicate process, as is beginning to draw.
This struggle creates a sense of confusion each time I pick up a pencil. I find myself trying to recall the techniques and skills I’ve learned, but all I feel is a deep longing to remember—to capture that fleeting moment or revisit that specific place. As I immerse myself in the colors and their gradients, they pull me in, offering an alternative to the memories and images I hold. They transform into a blend of emotions that lack distinct features. What remains is an energy that often manifests as vague outlines and fleeting flashes of past events, always finding a way to resurface.
The form has become elusive, losing its ability to represent particular memories. Those lines that once inspired me to express meanings I believed were within me—and within the viewer—have lost their potency. In a world where sensory experience, rather than interpretation, determines the impact of art, we are influenced by memories we carry yet do not fully feel. These memories create a presence that cannot be overlooked.
